Stainless steel

Material: Stainless steel | ZANO Street Furniture

Stainless steel compliant with EN 10088, grade 1.4301 (American AISI 304SS) is a material with special physical and chemical properties. Its main features are:

  • corrosion resistance
  • resistance to high temperatures
  • suitable for use in areas exposed to severe weather conditions (wind, rain, snow, strong sunlight)
  • shiny finish and very easy surface maintenance

Below are examples of the use of stainless steel in combination with architectural concrete, standard wood (softwood) and hardwood.

NOTE:

  • The colours of the furniture may differ from the actual colours of the furniture when viewed on a monitor
  • Stainless steel is highly resistant to external conditions, but it must be cared for and maintained like any other material

Corten steel

ZANO Street Furniture: Corten type steel colour

Corten steel is a type of low-alloy steel which, when subjected to appropriate processes, acquires a protective layer that closely resembles rust. This creates an interesting visual effect combined with good protective properties. However, it does not offer the same resistance to weather conditions at the level of stainless steel. Corten steel is still susceptible to water if any parts of the steel are not covered with a protective layer. This causes corrosion. We therefore recommend that you order Corten steel furniture with the intention of using it indoors or under a roof.
